Approximate Age: 5 years Approximate Weight: 50 lbs Currently Living at: temporary foster home Adoption Fee: $295 Painter is a beautiful girl looking for a loving, quite home! Her strong points include: beautiful, intelligent (learns tricks and commands easily, especially when treats are involved), obedience trained, calm/submissive in the house, does not chew inappropriate objects (she does like nylabones!) or have separation anxiety issues, housetrained, quiet (but will bark or do a welcome howl on occasion in greeting! Cute!) Painter will follow you around the house and lay down to wait for you or just retire to her dog bed if she gets tired, walks and runs nicely on a leash, crate trained (have not used a crate in a long time, she has the run of the house or stays in a room with a gate), accepts grooming and is athletic. Painter enjoys jumping up on logs in the woods and walking along them, she has a little experience with agility obstacles [jumps, hoops, tunnel] and loves that! Her weak point is fearfulness (especially of men, also of strangers (people or dogs), thunderstorms, fireworks, and veterinarian visits. Painter is a very sweet girl looking for an all female household. She is a special girl who will show you how much love she has to give! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family. Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery, rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention, monthly flea/tick prevention, and our transport costs.
